The other day I was in the mood for cinnamon rolls and I found this recipe. They were really good so I thought I would share the recipe with you. The best part is that the dough freezes really well. This recipe makes a large batch so I made a half recipe and I got about 20 rolls out of it. I love having them in the freezer so I can have fresh rolls whenever I want!
To freeze them I covered them with plastic wrap and then tin foil. |
I forgot to get a picture of my rolls when they were all baked so here is one from the Pioneer Woman website. |
Here is the recipe for the cinnamon rolls. It is a Pioneer Woman recipe. So Yummy!
When I made mine I did not use the frosting recipe they provided I made my own. I used just powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and a little bit of milk.
Yum!
ReplyDeleteMy husband looooves cinnamon rolls. The first month that we were married, I got out of bed at the crack of dawn one Saturday morning to make cinnamon rolls as a surprise for him. I was so excited to do something sweet and "wifey," so I didn't mind that it meant that I didn't get much sleep. I made the dough, waited for it to rise, punched it down like the recipe said and waited again...3 hours later when Jesse woke up, he walked into the kitchen to the smell of warm rolls in the oven. I was beaming from ear to ear--so proud of myself for doing it from scratch! When Jesse asked where the rolls had come from, I told him that I had made them all by myself.
"Oh," he said, "Why didn't you just buy them?"
GRRRRRR! He learned quickly that that's not the way to respond to a made-from-scratch treat!

Oh man that would make me so upset if I had just spent all that time and then my husband didn't even appreciate it. :)
