I love paint!

I love paint and especially spray paint! There is so much you can do with it! I have painted so many things to give them a whole new look. I recently painted some frames to hang in the playroom I am in the process of putting together for my daughter. These picture frames are just a few of the many things I have panted.
Before
After
I decided I liked this paper better so I changed it all out and will use the other set of letters for something else.
I painted the frames and took out the matting. I then cut letters out of scrapbooking paper. I got the frames for free. I bought the pink paint but I got enough that I will be able to make MANY more projects with it. I had the brown paint left over from a room I had painted. I also had the paper on hand so I really didn't have to buy much to make these.

My Chatty Little Girl

My little girl loves bath time. This is just after a bath and she is still super chatty. :)

Nursery

I thought it was time that I share my baby nursery. It is still not fully finished but it is close enough that I thought I could share it with you. I only have one before picture. Oh well.:)

Before
I still need to finish the curtains I am making for the window. I got my crib and changing table for $30 each! I made the changing pad cover from scrap fabric I had laying around.
I found this chair on a garage sale for $40. I love that it reclines! I want to reupholster it some day to make it match the rest of the nursery,
My dad made this for me when I was still living at home. He is so talented! I had bought the baskets and decided I wanted to have a window seat so I drew him the design I wanted and he made it for me! Now it makes a perfect place to store toys and baby clothes.
This is another picture I bought at a garage sale and redid.

Wordless Wednesday: Guess Who

I know. I know. I more pictures of baby L.:) What can I say she is just so fun to take pictures of. These are her 4 month (well almost 4 months) pictures. Enjoy:)
I am so sad. I had my camera on the wrong setting so a lot of these turned out a little grainy. When I tried to retake them she was already to tired.:(
Taking pictures is hard work.:)
Nap time doesn't stop me.:)
I just love sleeping babies!
I couldn't resist adding one of her feet.:)

Picture Redo

A while back I was looking for some things I could hang on my walls and I remembered a picture I had bought on a garage sale. When I bought the picture I was not sure if I would use it the way it was or if I would end up redoing it. I chose to make something of my own out of it.:) I ended up taking the whole thing apart. Sadly I did not get any before pictures of it but I have an after I can share with you.

I used scrapbooking paper I already had to make the outer edge and for the background of the inner section.
An easy and cheap wall hanging.
I paid three dollars for the picture/frame at the garage sale and then I already had the scrapbooking paper, flowers, and picture.

Grocery Store Sugar Cookie Recipe

Do you love those grocery store cookies as much as I do? I was on Pinterest the other day and found this recipe for cookies. The recipe said they were supposed to taste like the cookies you get at the grocery store so I had to give them a try! I made them today and they turned out really good!

The recipe suggests rolling out the dough on the plastic wrap that you refrigerate the dough in. Way less mess this way!
I made my cookies about 2 in around instead of the 2 1/2 in around that they suggest.
I got 6 1/2 dozen cookies out of one batch!
I am going to freeze a bunch for later.
So Yummy!!!

Oh Babies!

Today I start babysitting my little niece. My daughter and niece are about 2 months apart so this could be interesting.:) My sister and I both have to go back to work for two days a week. On two of the days we don't work we will be watching each others baby. On one hand I am happy because now I only have to work two days instead of three days. I have been working three days since my husband was laid off. On the other hand I have a feeling it is going to be super busy.:) I have a feeling I will not be getting any housework done one the days I babysit. Hopefully I can still find enough time to blog here and there still. Maybe they will be really good and always nap at the same time. Here's to hoping all goes well. :)
It will be fun when they are older and can play together. My sister and I are hoping they will be really close like we are.

DIY Fabric Flower

I was looking around on Pinterest today and found this tutorial for making fabric flowers. They were so cute I just had to give them a try! This is the website I found them on but I did modify mine just slightly.

I used a shot glass to trace around because I did not want the flower to get to big. Also, I cut 9 circles total. I made one smaller to replace the piece of the felt used in the original instructions because I didn't have any.
I used scrap fabric I had laying around.
I thought one of these would look cute with it.
My happy little helper. :)
She wasn't so happy to try it on.
A bath and some food and she is happier again. :)
I am really happy with how this turned out!
I think I am going to be using up a lot more of my scrap fabric in the near future.
