My Baby Girl

I was thinking about it today and I can't believe it is now just over 3 months since I was able to bring my little girl home from the hospital. Her birth did not go at all as anticipated! My sweet baby girl decided it was a good idea to swallow a whole bunch of mecomium just before she was born. Bad girl!:) This meant she ended up having to be airlifted to another hospital and then spend 12 days in the NICU there. The hospital she was sent to was over an hour away and so I spent those 12 days in the hospital with her. We were so thankful that the hospital provided a room for my husband and I to stay in so we could be close to her.

Here are a few pictures from then.
Just before she was born. :)

Just after she was born before they had to take her away.
The day after she was born hooked up to all the machines.
Finally getting to hold her again for the first time in 3 or 4 days!
Finally extubated and on a wall oxygen.
Trying a bottle for the first time. Later after we were home we had the fun job of switching her from bottles to breastfeeding.
Doing the carseat test and gettting ready to go home!
Home at last.

We are so thankful that God has granted her good health and now she is a thriving 3 month old.

  1. Ohh, poor baby! That must have been so hard for you to watch go through all of that! I'm glad the hospital had a place for you to stay. I can't imagine being separated from my baby the first few weeks of her life, but I know that many are. I'm glad she's doing so wonderfully now! She sure is a cutie :)
